Kitchen Island Pendant Lighting Can Improve Your Home

Kitchen island pendant lighting has become very popular over the last few years. It’s not hard to understand why. If you’ve ever been in a restaurant and felt a pang of insecurity over what you’re doing, then chances are that there is a light fixture somewhere in the restaurant pointing at it! And if you’ve ever had one of those “I’m making love” moments at a friend’s home and wished there was a wall clock to put your feet up to remind yourself that things aren’t going to be perfect every time, then chances are that you have at least one kitchen island light pointed at you. If you’re anything like me, that’s great!

So now we know that kitchen island pendant lights can add a lot of confidence and peace to any kitchen. But it seems that many people get confused about the best way to hang them. The truth is that most fixtures should work well hung by a single person, if at all possible. If you’re hung with two, three or four other people, then you want to hang them as far apart as possible. Ideally, you’ll want to line the remaining space up with your countertop, as this makes the lighting look more like a real countertop fixture and less like something that’s supposed to go on your counter.

When you hang your kitchen island lights, the lights are supposed to rest directly on your countertop, so they’ll project an even glow around the entire area. If you can’t hang your lights directly over your countertop, then there are several different ways that you can get the proper amount of light on your countertop without shining the light directly onto it. One common problem with hanging kitchen island chandelier lights over top of your countertop is that the light will shine directly onto it. To solve this problem, you can hang the lights at an angle, so that the light shines just past the edge of the counter. This way, you can get as much lighting into the room as possible without shining the light directly onto your countertop.
